Very rare, as complete bowl & trail, Centre de Table - Jardinière, designed by Suë et Mare for Christofle – Gallia and presented at the 1925 Expositions Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels in Paris. Louis Sue and André Maré collaborated as designers in the Art Deco period, by developing an highly decorative and much searched Art Deco style with less geometrical features but more inspired by the Louis XIV design.

  • SIGNATURE/MARKS:

    Punch/mark Gallia and number 5830 on the bowl and 5865 p, the tray. The hallmark of the Gallia collection, created by Christofle in 1898, is a cock in an escutcheon captioned "Gallia metal", "Gallia goldsmith's trade" or "Gallia" until 1942.

    Super silver-plated metal with mirror glass on the faceted and beaded frame of the tray with scrolling handles and wood under the silver plated metal of the tray. Bowl in original fine cut liner thick glass.
