Very rare pair of bronze bookends representing decorated elephants showcased during the famous Elephant Festival in Jaipur, India, where elephants are adorned with colourful clothes, jewellery, painted motifs, and various traditional Indian ornaments to celebrate the festival's royal and cultural significance. Marie Louise Simard (1886–1963) was a French sculptor known primarily for her bronze sculptures. She was born in Paris and created works during the early to mid-20th century. Her sculptures often feature figures such as dancers and elegant, stylized forms.
