A very rare glass and wrought-iron Coupe Bijoux designed by Charles Schneider and executed by Schneider, Société Anonyme des Verreries (1918-1981). Charles Schneider (1881-1953) was awarded the French Legion of Honour in 1926 and managed with his brother Ernest and sister Ernestine one of the largest art glass factories in France during the Art Deco period.

Coupe Bijoux in satin-finished orange powdered flecked glass fading into light organge and then blue azure flecked glass. Applied amethyst-black shaft stylised fined grey lines. Forged metal foot with the typical three glass balls decoration. During the blowing of the glass, the different glass parts and iron foot were melted/assembled together. With very large picture of a same coupe in book Charles Schneider, French Art Deco Glass - Tiny Esveld/Marie-Christine Joulin – p60 and 61 and other coupes with three glass balls decoration p51 and 59.

    Needle etched signature “Schneider” in the shaft of the foot. Glasmarken Lexikon - Carolus Hartman - P. 245 – 5375. The same reference work reports on page 796 that the Coupe Bijoux series was only produced between 1918 and 1924/1925.
