Pair of very stylised hunting panthers’ bookends designed by sculptor Alexander Zankoff (1900-1982). Alexander Zankoff is born in Sofia in 1900, did training at the Arts Academy in Florence and Rome become apprentice with the great French sculptor Emile-Antoine Bourdelle. His work is preserved in the National Gallery of Sofia and Moscow.
